About us
Hi, I’m Shay, the owner and lead planer of Peony Effect LLC!
I’m a lawyer by trade, but my passion has always been event planning. I’m not your typical event planner by any means. Having practiced law for many years, I learned to be a good listener and detail oriented to help my clients reach their goals. Eventually I realized I was enjoying helping others plan their events far more than my life in Corporate America.
But I’ve been a client too. I was the bride in a huge royal inspired wedding in DFW; a divorcee in a boho Birmingham Alabama divorce party, and a bride to my amazing husband Brent in two very different but gorgeous Los Angeles ceremonies. I know what it feels like to be the client who wants to be a part of every detail, and I’ve also been the client who just needed someone else to take on the stress of the big event.
So I set out to provide a service unlike any I’ve seen before: something customizable, unique, and painless. And Peony Effect, a service just for you, was born! We plan events throughout the United States, but specialize in events in the Greater Los Angeles Area and Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

Do you only plan wedding and wedding related events?
NO! While we specialize in wedding related events, we also have experience planning other events like product launches, premieres, birthday parties, divorce parties, and more! Contact us if you have an event that you don’t see listed on our website. If we can’t help you, we can alway refer you to another planner we know!
What is the cost for your services?
It depends on the package you choose and if you customize your package at all. Our fee is based on the size, location, and budget of the event. Contact us for our service offerings and investment guide.

Who are your vendors?
Part of the secret sauce that makes our business so successful is that we only disclose our vendor list to clients who sign with us. If you want to learn about our vendors when you’re deciding whether to choose us, we can provide you examples of their work and reviews.
Where do you work?
We are a California company but we also have operations in Dallas Texas. While Los Angeles and DFW are our main service areas, we still serve clients throughout Southern California, North Texas, and the United States!
